Birthday Party, '07 is in the books!

Well, we survived the grand event.

It was 112 degrees in the shade. We had 5 party crashers, which made 21 kids in all (16 of which brought parents). Note: Parents--DO NOT let your kids crash parties. Duh!

It was fun, though! I ended up employing neighborhood 10-year olds at the rate of $2.00/hr. to run games for me. They had fun, and we needed the help! So we had floating duckies, face painting, relay races, apple bobbing, corn hole, crafts, and ice cream. No injuries, either!

Obviously, I have realized by now that my love of parties does not automatically make throwing birthday parties a manageable endeavor. I've also realized that I don't have to prove my Mommy Fun Quotient to anyone but my own children. And I don't want entitled, bratty children, either. So I am officially over the need for crazy birthday parties. Finished. Period.

That said, this one went off for less than $50, and Kaela told me it was the best day of her life. It was worth it, I guess. This time. :)
