Wow. Didn't mean to quit blogging....but my mind gets vapid in summer sunshine, and there's no time to write during the first couple of weeks of school! I just wanted to jot down a few "sparks" to help fire off a for-real blog post in the next couple of days. Sooo many photos to post, too. Lots going on these days!
1) Kaela was baptized yesterday!!! We had a wonderful celebration day, full of uncles, cousins, and pizza.
2) School started last week. I am going to try to capture Kaela and Ben in writing the best I can, so that later I'll remember the days of beginning 2nd grade and Jr. K. Also, those oh-so-important back to school outfits!
3) Love how cute my classroom is this year. Feels a little like New Mexico and a bit like Bali with the colors and lights. Makes me happy to be there. Pictures to follow asap before it gets all cluttered!! :)
4) I have children with physical disabilities this year. When I was student teaching, I did a three-week practicum in a classroom designed for these fragile babies. One day, one of them choked. He nearly died. I changed my focus to learning disabilities after that, as I couldn't shake the fear of what could have happened that day. Now, as inclusion grows in popularity, there's more likelihood that I will teach some of these dear ones after all. It's a steep learning curve, and Friday I was praying and crying hard in my car....but I think it's going to be a neat year. And I'm working on a new design for a wheelchair, too, no kidding. If we can build a Dyson, surely we can engineer a maneuverable wheelchair....
5) Books! Wow, books to review! Can't get my hands on enough reading material lately. Couldn't tell you the last tv show I've seen.....
6) David got settled into his law school apartment in Atlanta. He's going to John Marshall University. Cool story there that I want to share.
Hmmm...that'll get me started. State Fair's coming up, and Rascal Flatts is in concert. Two camping trips also to look forward to, then Glee begins again! :). In the meantime, just trying to get back on a school schedule AND keep the remnants of a tan. Real post coming, I promise. :)
