From the Peanut Gallery, and a Prayer Request

On our snow day Tuesday, Kaela, Ben & I watched one of my favorite children's movies--The Little Rascals. Here's how different our personalities are. Each of us has been quoting the movie all week. We all enjoyed it and laughed all the way through!
The quote Kaela's been repeating: "I'm not a woman-hater, I'm a woman lover!" ~Alfalfa (She has a little boyfriend at school, and she is very romantic these days.)

The quote I've been repeating: "I got two pickles, I got two pickles, I got two pickles hey hey hey hey!" ~The cutest little kid, singing of course (I'll choose the cutie pie and the song every time!)

The quote Ben's been repeating: "I hate your stinkin' butt (guts)" ~A misrepresentation of a letter Alfalfa sent to Darla (Because if he thinks he hears the word "butt" it sticks like velcro! We don't even use that word at home.)

At school this week, there is a pencil stuck in my ceiling. I have no confession as of yet, even though I gave the "It would be hard to describe for you the feeling a teacher gets when she realizes that one of her students is being untruthful" speech. And ended the day with the speech about how "it doesn't matter how smart you are, how much money your parents make, or where you live. You don't control those things. What you do control is what kind of person you will grow up to be."

I think I will have my confession by Monday. As a reformed pencil chucker myself, I know how important it is to get the guilt off your chest...

Lastly, my only surviving grandparent is in the hospital. My dad's mom was having an irregular heartbeat, and was admitted into the CCU for atrial fibrillation a couple of days ago. She had an electric shock yesterday to get her heart back in rhythm. She did well through the shock, and now they're watching for some other things to resolve. The kids and I are going down there today while Eric's at work. She's only 71. Because of the amount of time we have recently spent in the CCU, I'm trying not to freak. My perspective on mortality has really shifted in the last year. We would appreciate your prayers.

OMG! I love that pickles song Buckwheat sings! I sing that in my head all the time, but replace the word pickles with whatever I have 2 of. I'm weird.
