This week has marked another milestone in the life of our daughter: Kaela has lost her first two teeth! Our quiet, thoughtful one now walks up to strangers wherever we are, grins widely, and announces: "Look what happened this week!" She's become quite the authority on all things tooth, too. Yesterday, she was said to have been overheard consoling a tearful classmate: "No, Caroline, your teeth aren't ready to come out yet. I'm sorry. They'll loosen up soon, and just as soon as they do, you can come to my house. My Mommy's a really good tooth puller!"
With kindergarten just around the corner, I must admit to being just a bit mushy. It seems like just the other day when my heart came to live on my sleeve, via a surgical procedure called "C-section." This part of the operation is the part you don't read about in the "What to Expect..." books.
She promises me she will live right next door to me when she's grown up. Or at least on the same street. She says she will still be my favorite work-out buddy, and traveling companion, and cuddle bunny, no matter how big she gets. She tells me I'm her best friend in the world, and makes me a letter or surprise every day of her life. I treasure these days, for I realize how short these times are. I want her to always want to hold my hand in the car while I drive, and to come home from a friend's house after an hour or two just to say she misses me, before heading back out. She's priceless, and I so love being her mom.

Congrats to Kayla!! She will have to show Maddie. Maddie had her two front teeth pulled two years ago and EVERYONE asks her about them. She is just getting to the age where she is getting self conscious about them being gone. So I am kind of glad some of her friends are starting to lose theirs too.
Bet she looks cute!
