Church/family Update

My word. Church was incredible tonight. I drove home laughing and crying and singing, if that give you any indication. Those are the best services. We sang so many hymns. The last one was "Victory in Jesus" and I could just see my Grandaddy's throat waddle when he belted that one out; it was one of his favorites, and he sang it (loudly and enthusiastically!!) from his hospital bed even in the throes of advanced dementia. Even in the middle of the night. :) I won't ever forget that.

It was also incredible because my family is there. My church family. Thank you, friends, for praying for my family family. :) Eric is working on 2nd shift right now, and we don't see each other through the week much at all. We chat on the phone, and he brings lunch to school a couple of times a week for Kaela and me, and he picks up Ben early from preschool...but our time together is very limited. Love on him, too, will you? He's losing weight, stressed, and just overall having a rough go of it at work.

Summer begins next week, and then we'll find a new normal where we see each other! Whoo-hoo!

In the meantime, one more week of writing report cards, attending placement meetings, field day, playground refereeing, and 2 field trips--the kind of rushed excitement that you enjoy as a new teacher, and now would rather just call in sick for. It'll be over before we know it!
