First Day of School

A week late, but here they are.

Kaela is 6 1/2. In first grade, but goes to second for math. She's sensitive. Loves her family fiercely, and is an excellent big sister/little momma to Ben. Laughs all the way to her toes when her uncles toss her around or blow slobbers on her belly. She is dying to go with me to New York City to visit them--just the big girls. She is never still--not even for a minute--and her mind is working all the time. She loves playing with her friends, jumping on the trampoline, swimming, and sleepovers. She doesn't love school. She would rather be home in the neighborhood (usually at our house, with 3 or 4 friends over) than out and about, but last night she asked me to take her to China so she could learn about it. She is sure that she's at least 15, and I'm pretty sure that she could take care of our family (driving included) if anything were to ever happen to me. She loves her friends, math, Pilgrim's Progress, her daddy, and nights when we go to book club and she can see her church friends.

Ben is 3 1/2. He's laid back. Happy ALL THE TIME. When he wakes up, he says, "Wow, that was wonderful sleep, and I had the best dreams!" He is a snuggle bunny, and will let me kiss him 500 times in a row without getting tired of it. He's madly in love with me. He chases his sister with his fingernails extended, and hits when he's mad. Which happens frequently, then blows over in an instant. He loves Bible stories, and says he wants to give his heart to Jesus right now, but wants to know if he will still be alive if Jesus has his heart. He also told me last night that he doesn't want me to have anymore children, because he thinks it might hurt, and he doesn't want anything to ever hurt me, ever. I didn't tell him that the real hurt comes later--when their feelings are hurt, or they're left out, or they do something rotten, or just thinking about them growing up. He loves spiders, bugs, puppies, Spiderman, Transformers, snakes, reading, and his family. He says Holiday World is the best day of his life, and is dying to go to Chuck E. Cheese's or Disney World. He is so appreciative of everything he has, has a crazy sense of humor, loves with all he's got, and can't keep his eyes open for the camera for anything.
