Update

I wish summer would never end.

I am enjoying being home with Kaela and Ben SO much! It's always this way. A couple of weeks to downshift....get used to not going a hundred miles a minute. Then enjoying the children, catching up on house/yard/socializing, and just playing. Then when school starts, a couple of weeks to adjust to the new pace again. I'm blessed to love both.

Eric celebrated his 34th birthday yesterday. We went to Captain's Quarters on the river for dinner--my favorite spot in Louisville, maybe. There were baby ducks enjoying the weather with us.

We have been to the County Fair at Mom's, to Henry's Ark (a locally-owned and operated free mini-zoo which we had never seen, and may visit weekly now!),

and to Guntown Mountain, a simulated old Wild West town, while decorating family graves.

I even joined a really inexpensive 24-hour gym right across the street from school, so now when I'm up at all hours of the night, I can go there and read while I'm on the treadmill. Bonus! I started running this week. It feels GREAT, in a sweaty, grumbly kind of way :-). And physical therapy is working. My elbow is getting strong and mobile again, and should be good as new in just a couple of weeks. That little elbow joint is pretty important, after all!

I got the official word on school for next year: I agreed to teach, be team leader, and be on the board of the special education PTA. I am NOT mentoring any new teachers or chairing as many meetings this year. It should be a cake walk compared to the past two years! :-) I get to stay with the kids I love (Oh, there's a cutie pie coming up this year. I cannot WAIT to get my hands on him!) and make decisions about the following year conservatively. I'm grateful.

OH, and Pete is moving home for a marketing job in two weeks, and David was accepted into law school in Ohio! Not New York! Yay! :-)

Guess that's all that's new here! Sorry if you don't know my extended family and don't care about update stuff! :-) God is still working through my quiet time on all the other restless stuff, and I'll be so glad when I've learned what I need to know to do what I need to do. Does that make sense? Sure wish I were a quicker learner....

Happy weekend!

Hey, thanks for the update! :) I'm glad you're enjoying your summer so far. I just have to say that Kaela and Ben have GORGEOUS eyes. So pretty, bright and clear.

I was chuckling about Henry's Ark. We enjoyed it too. We visited before we moved. Here is post that you'll totally be able to relate to from a long time ago if you're interested :) : http://wondrouslove.wordpress.com/2007/10/05/a-visit-to-the-ark/

Ha! That's awesome! I didn't see the yak OR the roaming donkeys! That pot-bellied pig is still there, and the reindeer were so friendly that we spent about 20 minutes with them. They were SWEET!! But so close to us, that the only pictures I got were nostrils and antlers. Could you see the capybara in the picture with the peacock? Crazy huge rodent!
It was 100 degrees in the shade when we went, and still want to go back. Fun times!
And thanks for the compliment on kids' eyes. It's probably just because I found my real camera again. :-)
I'm jealous that you're doing Latin this year. You'll have to post your thoughts on the program you're using. Maybe a project for next summer.
