7 years strong

Eric and I are celebrating our 7-year anniversary today. My friend Rose says we've hit a milestone--once you make it to 7 years, you're not likely to get a divorce. I tell Eric it just means I've got the 7-year itch, and am considering my options. :-) Truly, though, we made the decision not to get a divorce about 8 years ago. Before we ever considered marriage. That's why it was so scary!!! Forever's a long time! But that decision has never been up for discussion since. It's a very secure thing, knowing that we're both committed to marriage, no matter what.

This weekend, we went to the lake. We fished, swam, listened to a live country music band, slept with the doors and windows open so we could enjoy the sound of the locusts and the smell of the honeysuckle, got sunburned, visited Neeny & Grandaddy's grave for Memorial Day, laughed, fussed, and went to see Indiana Jones. I told Eric that I gave part of my heart away to Harrison Ford many years ago. He said he doesn't blame me--that guy sure knows how to make a movie!! (He does, too! It was so good! I'll probably dream about fire ants and aliens all week, but that's the fun part!)

Happy Anniversary, Eric! Thanks for sticking with me through life. I love you very much! :)
