A fun outing

The kids and I had planned to meet my sister and sister-in-law at the zoo this morning, since there was no school. It was chilly outside, though, and the weather was iffy, so instead we decided to go to Puzzle's Fun Dome, which is an indoor play area with inflatables, movie theatre, mini-golf, art room, and lots more fun stuff.

We had been there before, and I thought it was kind of pricey, although occasionally the fun factor trumps the price issue. Today, after paying admission I wondered for a moment if we should have cooked up something more creative right at home. BUT THEN...I watched Kaela push, pull, and drag Ben to the top of the 15-foot inflatable tiger slide. He resisted at first, a little hesitant. It was seriously a big slide, and I thought about steering him toward the toddler area, instead. I waited a minute, though, and in that time her enthusiasm won out. Ben reluctantly agreed to her demands. At last, she got him up to the top landing. After another dramatic pause, they tumbled down together in a rush, feet over heads, arms all askew, surprised and delighted by the speed. Then they lay on the mat, where they erupted into giggle fits.

It was too much for me. I joined them, then, and we spent our afternoon climbing the tiger slide, then rushing down at speeds I'm sure people were never meant to go. It. was. so. much. fun.

Kaela said it was the best day she had ever had.

Ben said, "I don't want to talk about it ever again, Mommy." Which I'm pretty sure meant that he had an amazing time, too!

What a fun-filled day with our kiddos!

(The photo's from Christmas time. The one of the big tiger slide wouldn't upload)
