Kaela had an amazing day today!! Her first writing assignment was "Write about one thing you did this summer." She wrote, "I went cmping." Yay!! Her teacher came and found me, and told me that she had sounded out "camping," and so all of them applauded for her. Kaela's hooked, and wants to live at kindergarten now. :) I left my camera in my classroom today, so pictures of her first day will have to wait until tomorrow.
Ben missed Kaela today, but did fine after a few minutes. The only tears I shed today were dropping him off at preschool. He cried for the first time ever, and said, "I just wanna be 5. Why am I not 5?" I'm really looking forward to having both of them with me during the days!
I had kind of a grizzly day. The special ed. team doesn't begin servicing kids until the first full week, so I have 3 days of scheduling, training, meetings, and paperwork before I see my first child. Yuck. I sure didn't choose my job for the paperwork, and I think I have a learning disability in the area of scheduling, but I did get a lot done today.
I got my first email of the year this afternoon from a former student. He loves middle school, and has classes with his friends. Then his mom emailed me, too, and just encouraged me for the beginning of a new year. I'll tell you, on those days when you run around with your hair on fire and wondering why in the world you're here, those encouraging words sure do go a long way.
Anyway, that's all I know. I'll post pics of Kaela's day tomorrow, probably. Hope you've had a wonderful day, and that you're encouraged with where you are right now.
