Karaoke

This has to be fast. We are leaving in 4 hours. Still gotta sleep....
But here's what I want to say tonight: I have two hopes for this vacation.
1) To spend some much-needed time alone with the Lord. I am praying for a safe, secluded place to do that each evening once everyone goes to bed--preferably on the beach. In the middle of nowhere.
I need some true quiet time. Terribly.
2) To go back to Senor Frog's, and sing some karaoke!

We missed Glee this week. BUT, before the broken arm and stomach flu that made this week unforgettable in a bad way, I had the opportunity to go out to dinner on the river with some teacher friends a few days ago. We stayed late because the weather was amazing and the music was live. Well, after awhile, the singer guy comes down into the table section and asks if anyone wants to sing. My friends and I all went up on stage (remember, this is still in the post Glee haze I've been walking in for the past week!) and sang a (clean) song from Grease. I was in the back of our trio.
Well, the guy says, "Give her the microphone next time," talking about me, then tells me to choose a song.
I chose Temporary Home, and stood up there and sang solo. Like a NERD.
When it was over, people neither cheered nor booed. I figured that was an OK place to make my karaoke debut. A nearly empty riverfront with a couple of great friends and a performance that faded into oblivion as soon as it ended.

It was fun, though! Not something I'd want to do all the time, but a fun departure from usual dinners out with friends. The thing is, there's nowhere around here to go sing karaoke! Most people won't do it unless they're tipsy, and so most karaoke opportunities are in bars. I don't want to go to bars. Shoot, I don't even want to sing in front of people. But I'm just saying....there should be the opportunity. Outside of a bar. In case someone ever DID want to again.
That's all.
