Let This Be a Lesson To Me...

Whew, boy! Anybody have a shepherd's crook? You know, like on the Muppets when the jokes get bad and the hecklers drag the lame ones off the stage by the neck? I need one!

First, let me just say that I'm tired. Which is seriously an understatement. I'm reading this book that I just can't put down...but of course, I can't even pick it up until everyone's asleep, so I don't get started on it til at least 10:30, and I don't get finished with it until--well--this morning it was about 1:30. Then with getting up early, my school friends' antics, getting all my meetings done before fall break and the theory of being able to live on coffee debunked (I just KNEW that would work!), I've hit a wall.

Some people get quiet when they're sleepy. I could only wish. I sent a parent the world's longest email today just to schedule a meeting. (Yeah, she won't think I'm crazy.) I called another one, and left probably a 5 minute message where I proceeded to talk in circles and ramble...yeah, for probably 5 minutes. I was a jerk to someone dear to me because I had dreamed we were grumpy with each other--and I woke up grumpy. (Does that only happen to me??) If that weren't enough, after school we had a team meeting where we made plans for Literacy Night. Guess who volunteered to head up 5th grade's contribution--dressed in pajamas and with hot apple cider?

Somebody quick! Grab that shepherd's crook! I promise to thank you when the fog from my brain lifts...Zzzz....
