Smarty Pants (and school photos)

OK, so maybe I might have mentioned on Wednesday during our Inauguration Day discussions that my boyfriend was in charge of swearing in the President. I might have mentioned that Chief Justice John Roberts is my only real celebrity crush, and I thought the kids should know who he is--you know, since he's Chief Justice, and all. I'm not sure, but I may also have mentioned his blue eyes and laugh lines. But it was just a comment in passing, and I had no idea how funny the kids would find that! Since then, I keep finding these things stuck all around my classroom:

Do you see the "He's bold" comment? I guess on the evening news last night, they aired a different view of the swearing in, and my kiddos think it's so funny that he's missing some hair in the back. I don't care. He's still way cooler than Justin Timberlake, and I bet the kids remember who he is and what his job is, too, now! :)

The rest of these are just random shots of my classroom. Not a big deal to those of you who always have your own classrooms, but special ed. teachers usually have to share little closets or nooks on the stage with other special ed. teachers. This year, I am very blessed to call all of this my own! The chairs in the nook were my grandparents' TV chairs. They're ugly, but so appropriate for the classroom since my grandparents spent their entire lives in classrooms...and I love them. I bought the booth from a White Castle that was going out of business. We call it the Conferencing Corner, but really it's where I sit my friends who need a little independent time. We don't have desks at all in our building. Sometimes you just need a desk!
