Family Time

It's been good to be home. Yesterday, those of us who were in town spent the day at Mom's, and Pete and David came home with us last night and spent the night.

This morning, I woke David up to go shopping with me, and he was singing "Happy Birthday" before he even opened his eyes. My birthday's not til tomorrow, but he still treated me to breakfast at Bob Evans, and he and I spent the morning braving the pre-dawn crowds and looking for gifts for friends and family. I'll tell you, that kid is going to be such a catch for some lucky girl one of these days! Then according to Murphy's Law, I got interviewed for the local news today. They even took my name and everything...so I can't deny that it's me out in public without a stitch of makeup on and in my husband's sweatshirt.
Oh, well.

Here are some photos from yesterday. My family has been through a lot this past year, and it seems that we are going to finish 2008 intact after all. (Mom--you survived 2008!!) After the ups and downs of the last year, we are especially grateful for this time together this season! The photo of David's head on the brown rug is when he was teaching my children to ride the "magic carpet" down the stairs. As if they needed any excuse...
