I'm stealing this post from Katrina's blog, which I positively adore. Check her out! Thanks, Katrina! :)
10 Things I'm Probably Too Old For, But Love Anyway
10) Sparkly nail polish. Sad that it chips off so easily. Summer colors are the best with a sterling silver toe ring and flip flops.
9) Motor boats. Motorcycles. Convertibles. Jet skis. Etc. The faster, the better. If coordination were a pre-requisite, I'd have to pass on many of these adventures. But hey, I like to walk on the wild side. :)
8) Juvenile fiction. My middle school neighbors and I pass books back and forth. We joke that we're on the same reading level. But they're wholesome, quick reads, and usually have better-developed plots than adult fiction. I read Nancy Drew all the time (dork alert, right??) and just finished Tangerine.
7) Birthday party ice cream from Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen. Kaela and I have a date once a week for ice cream and girl talk. She orders something new every time. I always get birthday party ice cream. :)
6) Sleeping anywhere besides in my bed. Since Eric's working nights, the kids and I crash all over the place. My favorite is in a blanket-tent in the basement.
5) Celebrity crushes. My list is short, and doesn't change much. Eric makes big-time fun of this. Here it is:
a)Chief Justice John Roberts (more of an old lady crush than a schoolgirl crush, but I heart him. Brilliant + handsome = swoon)
b) Edward Cullen from Twilight. NOT Rob Pattinson, the actor. He's too cool for me. But the character, Edward, from the book...he is beautiful. :)
c) Josh Lucas from Sweet Home Alabama. Purely looks and mannerisms. Sigh. d) The bi-racial forensics guy from Criminal Minds. Just started watching the show, it still scares me, don't know anything about him or even his name...but he is so cute.
4) The DOS-based Oregon Trail game. If you go to Wikipedia and type in "Oregon Trail game," you can get to a link to play it for free. I seldom die anymore, now that I've learned how to ford a river. We play this in my classroom during our Westward Expansion unit. I make the kids be the farmer, just for kicks. (He starts out with the least amount of money, and can't buy as many supplies.) Check it out.
3) My IPod. Where I listen to Taylor Swift (You Belong With Me) and Madonna's Crazy For You , plus Garth Brooks (I don't care that he had an identity crisis), Dave Matthews, and, um, Warren G. :)
I'm getting embarrassed to finish my list...I am very, very, very uncool....
2) Free movies at the Iroquois Amphitheater. We've gone twice. They show on Saturday nights, and there are kids' movies. And lightning bugs.
1) Cartoons. But not all of them...just "The Penguins of Madagascar," "VeggieTales," and "The Jungle Book" and "Cars" movie. I think "Cars" is in my top 5 movies, while I'm keeping it real...LOVE the wistful, nostalgic tone. I could watch it over and over and over.
What about you? Got a bunch of dorky preferences that you'll own up to? Link me! I'd love to know! :)

This quote is awesome: "I seldom die anymore, now that I've learned how to ford a river."
Love it!
Kacie
Sweet list! Can I tell you how much I love it that your celebrity crush list includes Chief Justice John Roberts? Makes me feel less weird about my little thing for Tony Blair...
Kacie...you'll have to play it with your boys. Even at their ages, it's an instant favorite! Just don't teach them what "ford" means....that's funny. :)
Katrina...don't get me started on my #1 guy. Wow. He has uncommon common sense, too, and a sense of humor, and the bluest eyes... :) I am cracking up about Tony Blair, though!! Really?? I can't get past a British accent.
