I just visited a wonderful county tradition and had to pass it on! Today, several of the local churches in the area have kids' consignment sales. Congregation members donate used children's clothes to the sale, which are then washed, priced, and organized according to size by volunteers. The donors get tax credit for their donations. Then, the sale is opened to the public. Saturdays are 1/2 price day. The customers get great gently-used children's clothing, and all the proceeds of the sale goes to the church mission fund. There were also women there selling handmade hair bows, bake sale items, toys, etc.
I spent less on the kids' summer wardrobes today than I spent on the detergent it will take to wash them all summer. GAP sweater vest (yellow, his favorite!)--$0.50. Capri pants and matching sleeveless top--$1.50. Helping fund mission projects to spread the Gospel around the world--priceless!
SCORE!!
