The 2nd District Court of Appeals in California has apparently made a ruling in an isolated case that would affect 200,000 homeschooling families by making it illegal in California to homeschool unless the parent is a certified teacher. Please go here and read the story from Dr. Dobson:

This fires me up, not only because it's aimed at homeschooling Christians, but it's another attack on parents' basic rights to rear their children as they see fit. Whether it's forcing parents to give a cervical cancer vaccine or forcing them to send their children to any specific type of school (public, private, or homeschool), let's decide this issue once and for all: the responsibility for rearing children lies with their parents, not their government. This is not a public health issue, and this is an overstep of governmental bounds.
