Worship

The first CD I ever bought with my own money was Phantom of the Opera. (Not relevant to this post.) The second was WOW Worship, Yellow, a few days later. I don't even remember how long I've had this one, but I still do--and it's still one of my very favorites. There's a song on there, Heart of Worship, that I have listened to about 3 trillion times. It's like, every time I hear it I realize that once just isn't enough, so I play it again. And again. I love the arrangement, the music, everything.
Today I was listening for the 3 trillion and first time, and suddenly I was hearing it for the very first time. Tears filled my eyes as I listened to the words...

I was just thinking, how often do I pray, "Lord thank you for the sunshine you've given us, and for the health you've given us, and for the food and shelter you've given us..." with the focus being on me and the gifts I've received, and how seldom do I pray, "Lord, thank you for being Holy. And omniscient. Omnipresent. Sovereign. Faithful. The Beginning. And the Ending. The First. The Last. El Shaddai. Emmanuel. God with us. The Great I Am. Jehovah. Mighty. King. Lion of Judah. Creator. Sustainer. Author of Life. Redeemer. Unchanging. Merciful. Love. Righteous. Wonderful. Counselor. Reconciler. Father. ?" When was my worship last just All. About. Him.?
